Warranty on Shoes
A defect in the shoes can be due to a factory defect or a usage-related issue.
What is the difference between a factory defect and a usage-related issue?
You refer to a factory defect when the defect can be attributed to the manufacturer. This is called a production error.
If the issue arises from improper use or failure to maintain the shoes properly, it is referred to as a usage-related issue. If you want to know whether the defect in your child's shoe is a factory defect or a usage-related issue, please continue reading.
1. Wear and Tear: An example of wear and tear is damaged toes. These are usage-related issues. Children wear their shoes every day and/or all day long. They play, climb, crawl, fall, and run with their shoes and handle them very differently from adults. It is important to take this into account when purchasing children's shoes. Shoes for children have to endure a lot from activities like soccer, slides, heels, and, of course, the toes. This can result in the rapid damage of children's shoes, and in some cases, the damage can be irreparable. This has nothing to do with the quality of the shoe.
2. Broken Stitching: Make sure to take action promptly if you see a stitch coming loose. If you wait too long, the factory warranty will be void due to negligence. Therefore, regularly inspect the children's shoes and take action in time. For example, sandpits can cause stitching to come loose more quickly. It is best to regularly clean the shoes to keep the stitching supple.
3. Damage to Zippers and Soles: These damages often occur because children put on their shoes in a hurried manner rather than the correct way. For example, putting on your shoes while the zipper is only halfway open or stepping into your shoes without first untying the laces. These damages are irreparable and are not covered by the factory warranty.
4. Wear and Tear on Velcro Straps: Velcro shoes should always be securely fastened to prevent wear and tear. Regularly cleaning the Velcro on children's shoes is also very important because grass or hairs can easily get stuck to it.
